Our Story

Started in 1997, CU now offers 40+ indirect spend programs to nearly 350 member organizations, many of which are Fortune 1000 companies.

Founded in 1997 by Gregg Mylett, the inspiration for CU came from Gregg’s experience working closely with hospital buying groups in his previous roles selling office supplies. Gregg started with a modest vision: to create the nation’s largest office products buying group. Gregg facilitated the first sourcing initiative in 1998, establishing a contracted program that delivered tremendous value to each of the original five participants: Lubrizol, Marconi Medical Systems, Parker Hannifin, Progressive and Sherwin-Williams. That initial success has expanded into 40+ indirect spend categories and a membership of nearly 350 companies spending $225 billion on indirect goods and services per year.

Our mission is to provide insightful, scalable solutions for select indirect spend categories while ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for our members, partners and Corporate United. To ensure our continued success and growth we are committed to building a company that attracts, develops and retains exceptional people.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio with regional offices across the country, Corporate United has grown into the nation’s largest indirect group purchasing organization (GPO).

Where traditional GPOs focus on getting a company the lowest price, Corporate United focuses on getting the greatest value for our members. Corporate United is a bigger, better idea for business.
